Overview
Shuangfeng Forest Farm, located in Mudanjiang city, Heilongjiang, Northeast China, is renowned as "China's Snow Town." Situated about 280 kilometers from Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang province, this scenic destination offers stunning snow-covered landscapes. The snow season in Shuangfeng lasts up to seven months, with an impressive average snowfall of about 2.6 meters annually.
Development
Historically, Shuangfeng's economy relied heavily on logging. However, the decline in timber production forced a shift towards tourism. The forest farm encouraged locals to pivot from lumbering to tourism, marking the beginning of a transformative era. An intelligent scenic area management platform was introduced, improving ticket booking, review systems, and environmental monitoring. Additionally, the farm has undertaken significant environmental initiatives, such as replanting over 1,000 mu (66.7 hectares) of trees and creating an ecological zone spanning tens of thousands of mu.
